The wait

The wait

Poet: Jahin

By the pedestal, I sit here today, all alone
Waiting for my beloved to come along
Years have passed, seasons have changed
She has not come yet, I am waiting for her arrival
Sitting eagerly by the same spot is the only thing, unchanged.

I look with hope at the lavenders
The way they shake their heads in joy in the gentle wind
The sweet memories come back to my mind
The days when we both shared the same joyous moments
Under the vivid moonlight
The lovely sunset and all the beauties of mother nature

Now she lives her days happily, not with me
But I still sit today in this dark night waiting for her to come back one day
To soothe this broken heart
And bring me out of this melancholy.

I remember her, still now, vividly.
Her face, under the moonlight,
Had made the moon jealous
Her glowing eyes in the moonlight had summoned the gods from heaven.
Her lips, strawberry, delicate as the petals of a rose.

I know, she might not come back to me
But I still sit here near the pedestal, waiting for her, all alone, in the beaming moonlight,
With a forlorn smile!
