Life Doesn't Autoplay Background Music

A poem on the search for life's hidden soundtrack, and the realization that sometimes the most meaningful music is the one we find within ourselves.

Life Doesn't Autoplay Background Music
I saw a couple walking together around a serene
Reminded me of a movie scene
Singing opera the birds flying around
The wind blowing the flute till i was found
Sitting on the chair I hear leaves rustling
No sound of music, only cars bustling

Oh did I not hear a single note
To hear that sound I put on a tape
And guess what? It changed my fate
Do not play hero if you hear violins
No need to cry if you hear the harp
Turn off the music, wait and see
Life is what you hear it to be

Quarrels and fights have sharp notes
Fairytails and lights possess sweet tones
Ah yes I hear it while walking together
You have changed the background of my life forever
Faraway still I hear the song you sing
A song I kept in myself within

I tried on headphones in my free time
just to find, you were the only sound in my mind
When I saw the bus you rode go away
All I could hear was it driving away
Will I be able to hear myself then
When I hear you sing that song again

Life has no background music,
Will you press play for me, again?
