Trekking to Heaven

A journey into the Himalayas becomes more than a trek through mountains—it becomes a journey inward. Amidst towering peaks, silent valleys, and moments of solitude, this story captures the beauty of nature and the lessons learned along the way.

Trekking to Heaven

Let’s Go for a Hike!!!

But for this trek, you just need maybe some background music and a bit of curiosity to embark on this journey with me.

Do you know what the best experience in the world is? It’s trekking. Believe me, it’s just amazing!!

This summer, I had the chance to go trekking in the Himalayan range. Our journey was filled with the most beautiful views of unimaginably huge mountains, lush green landscapes with snow-capped peaks, and tall, beautiful trees. The fresh air is so energizing that you feel alive and stop caring about all your worries for a moment.

“When there is no network, you are left alone with your own thoughts…”

Okay, coming back to our journey. The place I went to was in Himachal Pradesh.

The first-day trek was to Karthik Swami Temple. It is an easy-to-moderate trek. The views were indescribable—the snow-capped mountains and the drizzle of rain (the weather was on our side). It was cloudy, and the temperature was perfect. The deep valleys, the flowers, and the lack of network made me fall in love with my own company. The trek was quite easygoing and not very steep. Only at the end was it a bit steep, but once you reach the top and see the view, all your pain vanishes in an instant.

After reaching the top, the view of Manimahesh Kailash was like heaven—the one I had dreamt of. I am running out of words to describe it. I don’t think the photos do justice to the reality. The peace was amazing. The temperatures dropped, and I started shivering in the cold, silent air. We were instructed to stay in a partition made of clothes. Later, we had Maggi, and then I listened to the birds and the breeze while sitting on a stone.

We slept in our sleeping bags. The night was scary. The next day, Day 2, we were going to trek to Dhano 2. But the darkness gave way to wonder; the morning view of Manimahesh Kailash was breathtaking. Seeing the sunlight hit and reflect off the mountain made it look golden.

Later, we set out to trek. The Dhano trek turned out to be difficult and very steep. Our guide kept giving us false hope that we would reach soon, and that motivated us to keep going.

Isn’t this very useful for life as well? When you feel low, you just need to keep going, no matter what.

That said, as we reached the top, my eyes were drawn to the breathtaking sight. There was a meadow, a piece of land on top of a mountain surrounded by snow-capped peaks. It looked like something out of a movie scene—a horse, the snow-covered mountains, and a huge stone where I later sat and let the moment sink into me.

We set up our camps there. It was the chillest night of my life. We all gathered around a bonfire to enjoy the night. We could hear wolves and bears crying in the distance at night. I also got a chance to see sheep and rabbits the other day. The rabbits sat on my shoulders—they were so cute. It felt like something straight out of a book.
